Here are my initial thoughts on the Opening Odds for Cage Warriors 136:
- The main event of Cage Warriors 136 is a middleweight title fight between champion Djati Melan and challenger Christian Leroy Duncan. Melan is undefeated at 8-0 and he defeated Matthew Bonner by decision last December to capture the CWFC middleweight title. A professional MMA fighter since 2014, Melan only fights about once a year, but he hasn’t lost, so he has been doing everything right so far in his career. If he wins this fight against Duncan, it’s possible you could hear fans say this guy should go to the UFC. As for Duncan, he is also unbeaten at 5-0 in his MMA career. He’s only been a pro since 2020, but he has been fighting a ton during the pandemic and racking up a lot of experience. If Duncan wins this fight, no doubt you’ll hear fans asking for him to go to the UFC. This should be a very competitive fight, and the opening odds are close for a reason.
- Also on the card is a flyweight bout between Aaron Aby and Gerardo Fanny. Aby is a Cage Warriors and ACB veteran who is 5-1-1 overall in his last seven fights entering this bout. As for Fanny, he is another CWFC who has won three of his last four fights entering this contest. Once again, we have a competitive fight with close odds.
