Here are my initial thoughts on the Opening Odds for LFA 127:
- The main event of LFA 127 sees the vacant middleweight title on the line between Bruno Assis and Ozzy Diaz. Assis has fought for promotions such as LFA, Titan FC, Brave CF, and he also competed on Dana White’s Contender Series where he lost to Andre Muniz. Although his 12-5 record isn’t great, if you look at who Assis has fought, his record is a bit misleading because he has losses to the likes of Paulo Costa on his resume. Otherwise, he is a dangerous fighter who has scored many submission wins in his career. His opponent Diaz is also an LFA veteran and he has also fought for Bellator. He is coming into this fight on a four-fight win streak with all the wins by stoppage. This looks like a tough fight to call between a striker and a grappler with the LFA middleweight gold on the line, and that’s why it opened as a near Pick ’em.
- The co-main event is a featherweight bout between Javier Garcia and Chase Gibson. Garcia is an LFA vet who fought tooth-and-nail last year against Bruno Souza, losing a close decision for the LFA featherweight title. Since then, he’s bounced back with another win. As for Gibson, he fought on Dana White’s Contender Series a few years ago and has picked up one win since losing on the show. Gibson is solid, but Garcia should be the favorite to win this fight.
