Here are my quick thoughts on the PFL Challenger Series 3
- The main event of PFL Challenger Series 3 is a women’s lightweight bout between Jacqueline Cavalcanti and Martina Jindrova. Cavalcanti is a 24-year-old Portuguese native who has won both of her pro MMA fights. Her opponent Jindrova is a 31-year-old Czech Republic native who is just 3-2 overall in MMA. Jindrova does come from a Muay Thai background but it just hasn’t translated all that well to MMA as she’s lost her last two straight fights. Honestly, you have two extremely raw and green fighters here, and this just doesn’t look like a good fight to bet. The fact that Cavalcanti is so much younger and hasn’t lost yet makes me lean towards here just slightly, but overall there isn’t a lot of information to make a confident bet with.
- The co-main event sees Jackie Cataline against Evelyn Martins. Cataline is making her MMA debut here after a career as a collegiate freestyle wrestler. We all know that wrestlers have done very well in mixed martial arts, so it will be interesting to see how her wrestling skills translate to the sport. At this point, though, there are just so many unanswered questions about here. As for Martins, she is a 19-year-old American Top Team product who is already 2-0 in MMA while fighting for Titan FC. Cataline might have some really good wrestling skills, but at these odds, I’d rather take the 19-year-old fighter who has already racked up two MMA wins. EDITOR’S NOTE: Martins is out of the fight and was replaced by Camee Adams.
