Here are my quick thoughts on the UFC Vegas 48 Opening Odds:
- The main event of UFC Vegas 46 is a five-round light heavyweight bout between Jamahal Hill and Johnny Walker. Hill is coming off of a big KO win over Jimmy Crute and overall he is 4-1, 1 NC in the UFC with all four wins by knockout. Hill is on a roll and he has the potential to be a top-10 fighter in a division in fresh need of new blood. As for Walker, he is coming off of a decision loss to Thiago Santos and overall he has lost three of his last four fights. Walker started off his UFC career with three straight wins by knockout, but he has really struggled since then. Hill is the better fighter right now, and he should be able to get the finish here.
- The co-main event sees Kyle Daukaus battle Jamie Pickett at a 195lbs catchweight bout. Daukaus is 1-2, 1 NC in the UFC, while Pickett is 2-2. This was originally supposed to be Julian Marquez against Daukaus, but Marquez pulled out with an injury and was replaced by Pickett on short notice. Daukaus is the better fighter, however, and that’s why he is the favorite here over the inconsistent Pickett.
