Here are my initial thoughts on the Opening Odds for Cage Warriors 129:

  • The main event of Cage Warriors 129 features Luke Shanks against Sam Creasey for the vacant CWFC flyweight title. Shanks won his last fight and he has won five of his last six fights overall, while Creasey has won his last three fights in a row. Both of these fighters are CWFC veterans who are looking to break through here with a big win in this title fight that could hopefully launch the winner of this fight to a UFC contract. The oddsmakers view this fight as a very close matchup that is essentially a pick ’em fight. This looks like it will be a very close fight but Shanks opened up as a very slight betting favorite here according to the bookies.
  • The co-main event sees Mateusz Figlak take on Joachim Tollefsen in a welterweight bout. Figlak has won his last three fights in a row while Tollefson is actually winless over his last two fights. This is a somewhat surprising matchup as you have a fighter coming off of a win against a fighter coming off of a loss. As such, it’s not totally surprising to see Figlak as the small favorite here just given the fact his opponent has no momentum coming into this fight.
