Here are my initial thoughts on the Opening Odds For Bellator 266:
- The main event of Bellator 266 is a light heavyweight bout between Yoel Romero and Phil Davis. Romero is making his long-awaited Bellator debut after having been forced to withdraw from the 205lbs Grand Prix due to an eye injury. Now that he’s cleared to fight, Romero will be looking to get back into the win column when he takes on Davis, the former Bellator light heavyweight champion who is coming off of a loss to champion Vadim Nemkov in the tournament. Davis has always been one of the most underrated light heavyweights in the sport and he could be catching Romero at a good time considering his age and layoff. It makes sense Romero is the favorite here considering his big name, but Davis is a live dog here.
- The co-main event sees Mark Lemminger take on Neiman Gracie in a welterweight contest. Lemminger is coming off of a TKO win over Demarques Jackson while Gracie was most recently seen losing a narrow decision to Jason Jackson. Lemminger’s wrestling skills make him a difficult fight for most, but considering Gracie’s grappling acumen, it makes sense that he is slightly favored heading into this contest.
