Here are my quick thoughts on the UFC Vegas 36 Opening Odds:
- The main event of UFC Vegas 36 features a pair of top-10 middleweights going at it when Derek Brunson squares off against Darren Till. Brunson is riding hot into this fight as he has won four straight fights, including a dominant five-round showing against Kevin Holland in his last fight. As for Till, he has lost three of his last four outings, including a close decision loss to Robert Whittaker in his last fight. Despite Till coming into this fight with very little momentum when compared to his opponent Brunson, the Brit still opened up as a modest betting favorite.
- The co-main event features a pair of heavyweights under 30 when Tom Aspinall takes on Serghei Spivac. Aspinall has won all three of his UFC fights by stoppage since joining the world’s leading MMA promotion last year, while Spivac is 4-2 overall in the UFC and riding a three-fight win streak. Keep in mind that Spivac filled in on short notice after Sergei Pavlovich was forced to pull out with an injury. Aspinall opened up as a big betting favorite for this fight and given how dominant he has looked in the UFC, it’s really no surprise to see the odds this way.
