Here are my initial thoughts on the Opening Odds For Bellator 264:

  • The main event of Bellator 264 features middleweight champion Gegard Mousasi putting his belt on the line against top contender John Salter. Mousasi is coming off of back-to-back wins over Douglas Lima and Lyoto Machida and overall is 5-1 in Bellator with his lone loss coming in an upset to Rafael Lovato Jr. in 2019. Overall, Mousasi has won 10 of his last 11 fights, and even at age 36, he is very much still an elite fighter. In his next title defense, Mousasi faces off against Salter, who himself is a former UFC fighter. Salter is 8-1 overall in Bellator with his lone loss also coming against Lovato Jr., and he’s currently riding a three-fight winning streak. While Mousasi is the clear favorite in this fight, just keep in mind that Salter is very underrated.
  • The co-main event features welterweights Andrey Koreshkov and Sabah Homasi going at it in what should be a fun fight for as long as it lasts. Koreshkov is returning to Bellator after picking up a win in Russia earlier this year. He’s the former Bellator welterweight champion, and although he’s been hit-and-miss over the last few years, Koreshkov is still super talented. As for Homasi, he is coming off of a knockout loss to Paul Daley in a war earlier this year. While Homasi has a puncher’s chance, Koreshkov is the rightful favorite to get his hand raised.
