Here are my initial thoughts on the Opening Odds for LFA 106:
- The main event of LFA 106 features Joshua Silveira (4-0) against Rafael Viana (6-1). The 28-year-old Silveira has won all four of his fights by stoppage since turning pro in 2019, and he looks to be a very solid prospect. In this fight, he takes on the 36-year-old Viana, who hasn’t fought since a 2016 TKO loss to Devin Clark in RFA. Prior to his layoff, he had defeated a number of fighters in Brazil by submission, but it’s so hard to know what to expect here given he hasn’t fought in five years. My lean for this one would be Silveira to get the stoppage win.
- At featherweight we have an interesting bout between Cheyden Leialoha (7-2) and Edwin Chavez (4-0). The 27-year-old Leialoha is a Hawaii native who has fought in both Dana White’s Contender Series and in Bellator. He hasn’t fought since 2019 so he will be coming into this fight off of a decent layoff. As for Chavez, he has won all four of his fights since turning pro. It feels like there’s more upside with Chavez, but Leialoha can also win this.
- The biggest favorite on the card is Trevor Wallace (4-0) against Bubba Grant (7-6). Wallace has won all four of his fights by knockout since turning pro in 2020. As for the 36-year-old Grant, he is a regional scene veteran who hasn’t fought since 2019. You can tell by this betting line that the oddsmakers are expecting Wallace to get this win, and he should do so by TKO.
