And here are my initial thoughts on the Cage Warriors 113 Opening Odds:
- While the majority of the sporting world has been shut down to the coronavirus pandemic, the MMA world trucks on. While the UFC was shut down for the next month, Cage Warriors is now the only show in town as it will still hold its event this Friday, albeit with no fans in the crowd. The card originally set to take place in London but was moved to Manchester at the last minute. It’s also worth noting that two fights set for UFC London were added to this card.
- The two UFC bouts that will take place at this event are a middleweight bout between Todorovic and Phillips and a middleweight bout between Stewart and Fabinski. We already had odds for Todorovic vs. Phillips, but Stewart and Fabinski both had different opponents for UFC London, so the sportsbooks will have to release a new line for this new matchup.
- As for the original matchups for this card, the main card features three title fights. In the main event, the Cage Warriors interim featherweight title is up for grabs as Charriere takes on Banovic. Both fighters are coming off of two straight wins and this should be a good scrap.
- In the co-main event, Faiddine will defend his flyweight belt against Shanks. Faiddine has won his last two fights while Shanks is on a three-fight win streak. Perhaps surprisingly the challenger enters this bout as the betting favorite.
- The third title fight on this card sees the vacant Cage Warriors lightweight title on the line between Jones and McColgan. Jones is unbeaten in his MMA career with a perfect 8-0 record while McColgan is unbeaten over his last three fights. The oddsmakers favored the unbeaten Jones to win this bout, but only by a slim margin.
- Another fight that will be popular for bettors sees fan favorite Pimblett take on Dalton in a lightweight scrap. Pimblett hasn’t won a fight since 2018 but he’s a former Cage Warriors champion and one of the promotion’s most recognizable fighters. Not surprisingly, he enters this fight as one of the biggest favorites on the card. As for Dalton, he’s won his last four fights.
- This could be the last MMA card we see for a few weeks or potentially even months so make sure to tune in and enjoy it while we still have MMA. Stay safe everyone during these trying times.
