Hispanic MMA promotion Combate Americas hosts Combate 47 at the Dome Care in Monterrey, Mexico on Friday, October 18, 2019 at 9 p.m. ET live on DAZN, with prelims streamed live on Facebook. The main event features a featherweight bout between Levy Saúl Marroquín and Enrique Gonzalez.
Marraquin (12-3) is a major Combate veteran sporting a 6-2 record in the promotion. He has won four of his last five fights, but lost his most recent bout, a unanimous decision loss to co-main event fighter Alejandro Flores at Combate 35 in April. Gonzalez (8-3) is riding a two-fight winning streak and sports a 1-0 record under the Combate banner. He most recently won his Combate debut, a split decision victory over Alejandro Martinez at Combate 40 in June.
The co-main event features a featherweight bout between Alejandro Flores and Marco Antonio Elpidio. Flores (16-2) is one of the most experienced Combate fighters of all time, sporting a 13-1 record under the Combate banner. He most recently bounced back from his first Combate defeat by scoring a unanimous decision victory over main event competitor Levy Saul Marroquin in April. Elpidio (9-3-1) is a solid six-fight Combate veteran, going 4-2 in the promotion. He is currently riding a two-fight winning streak, most recently defeating Ricardo Arreola at Combate 35 in April.
