LFA 71 takes place at the Coca-Cola Roxy in Atlanta, Georgia on Friday (July 12, 2019) at 9 p.m. ET live on AXS TV. Welterweights Jason Jackson and Hemerson Souza are slated to duke it out in the main event for the title.
A native of Jamaica, Jackson (9-3) won his LFA debut with a second round submission victory over Scott Futtrell in April and is currently riding a two-fight win streak. An ankle injury cost Jackson an opportunity against Kyle Stewart on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series and he is looking for redemption. Souza (7-4) is making his LFA debut and, like Jackson, is currently riding a two-fight winning streak. Souza most recently won a unanimous decision against Wendell Oliveira in May.
In the co-main event, a pair of top American welterweight prospects will throw down as Demarquez Jackson takes on Hugh Pulley.
Jackson (10-3) has gone 2-1 under the LFA banner. He most recently lost by TKO against Harvey Park in the main event of LFA 64 in April. Pulley (7-4) has split his last four bouts and is making his LFA debut. He also is coming off a loss, most recently losing a unanimous decision to UFC veteran Jonavin Webb last December.
