UFC on ESPN+ 27 took place Saturday, February 29, 2020 in Norfolk, Virginia. The card was headlined by Joseph Benavidez taking on Deiveson Figureido for the flyweight title.

Megan Anderson landed a flush right hand on the button to knockout Norma Dumont in the opening round. Anderson closed -280 with the return on Dumont +230
Grant Dawson secured a takedown in round two and completely took over the fight securing a rear naked choke to submit Derrick Minner. Dawson closed -510 while Minner closed +380
Luis Pena took Steve Garcia down in all three rounds leading the way to a unanimous decision victory. Pena closed -275. Garcia closed +225
TJ Brown was dominating his fight with Jordan Griffin, but Brown left his neck open on a takedown attempt in the second round. Griffin got his arm underneath Brown’s chin and was able to secure a choke to get the submission win in the second round. Griffin closed -140 while Brown closed +120
Underdogs that Won
Deiveson Figueiredo landed a straight right that sent Joseph Benavidez spiraling to the canvas to give the Brazilian the knockout victory. Since Figueiredo missed weight the flyweight title remains vacant. Figueiredo closed +130 while Benavidez closed -150
Kyler Phillips took over his fight against Gabriel Silva with combination striking as well as a tough ground game to win by decision. Phillips closed +105 while Silva closed -125
Brendan Allen looked great once he got Tom Breese to the ground. He advanced position gradually on the mat and finished the fight with ground and pound to get a first round TKO. Allen closed +150. Breese closed -170
Marcin Tybura was able to secure takedowns throughout his fight with Sergey Spivak to easily win a unanimous decision. Tybura closed +100 while Spivak closed -120
Spike Carlyle landed a huge elbow in the clinch to Aalon Cruz’s head. It wobbled Cruz and Carlyle followed up with a swarm of strikes to end the fight in the opening round. Carlyle closed +170 with the return on Cruz -200
Sean Brady took over the fight in the second round taking Ismail Naurdiev to the mat. He continued that in round three to win a hard-fought decision. Brady closed +110 while Naurdiev closed -130
