Dana White Tuesday Night Contender Series 25 took place Tuesday, August 20, 2019. The card was headlined by a welterweight fight between Phillip Rowe and Leon Shahbazyan.

Jamal Pogues secured takedowns in all three rounds to pull away from previously undefeated Marcos Brigagao to win a unanimous decision. Pogues closed -172. Brigagao closed +150

Steve Garcia looked great showing a wide variety of striking skills to put away Desmond Torres in the opening round. Garcia closed -120 while Torres closed +101

Mallory Martin was able to secure takedowns throughout the fight to earn a clear decision over Micol Disegni. Martin closed -333 with the return on Disegni +264

 

Underdogs that Won

Phil Rowe landed a big right hand to open round three that wobbled Leon Shahbazyan. Rowe saw an opportunity to finish and poured it on to get the referee to step in and stop the bout. Rowe closed +190 while Shahbazyan closed -238. With the finish, Rowe was the only fighter to earn a UFC contract at this event

In a physical fight that saw a lot of action in the clinch, Ricky Steele landed the more impactful strikes to edge a split decision over Phil Caracappa. Steele closed +139 while Caracappa closed -159
