Dana White Tuesday Night Contender Series 21 took place Tuesday, July 23, 2019. The card was headlined by a middleweight fight between Ramazan Kuramagomedov and Jordan Williams.

Favorites that Won

Ramazan Kuramagomedov and Jordan Williams put on a tremendous fifteen-minute bout that was the best fight in the Contender Series this year. It was a back and forth fight in which Kuramagomedov earned a split decision victory. The Dagestani fighter closed the biggest favorite on the card at -556 while Williams closed +405

Jamahal Hill did a great job of landing to the body tiring out Alexander Poppeck. Hill hurt Poppeck with knees to the clinch which sent Poppeck to the mat in the second d round. Hill followed up with ground and pound to finish the fight and get the victory. Hill closed -270 with the return on Poppeck +215. With the finish, Hill earned himself a UFC contract

 

Underdogs that Won

After being dominated on the mat in round one and early in round two, Sean Woodson was able to get back to his feet and land a flying knee in round two to floor Terrance McKinney to stun the heavily favored wrestler and get the victory. Woodson closed +278 while McKinney closed -357. The stunning knockout earned Woodson a UFC contract

J.J. Okanovich survived multiple submission attempts in the opening round and then beat up on a tired Christian Lohsen in the final two rounds to win a clear decision. Okanovich closed -105. Lohsen closed -115

After he was beat up on the mat for the majority of the opening round, Billy Quarantillo put in one of the best turnaround rounds in Contender Series history landing a whopping 99 strikes in the second round to have Kamuela Kirk in all sorts of trouble. Quarantillo didn’t relent in the third round and referee Herb Dean was forced to step in and stop the bout in the third round to prevent further damage. Quarantillo closed +217 while Kirk closed -263. In one of the easiest decisions of the season, Dana White awarded Quarantillo a UFC contract
