UFC on FUEL TV 3 In-Progress Betting Review

UFC on FUEL TV 3Following is a live betting review for most of last Tuesday’s UFC on Fuel TV 3 event from the Patriot Center in Fairfax, Virginia courtesy of Several Bookmakers bookmaker Anthony.  The preliminary bouts broadcast on Facebook.com were not available for live in-progress wagering because of the time delay and unreliability of the video feeds. Jason McDonald vs. Tom Lawlor: Lawlor opened the first round at -250, and before you knew it, the fight was over. I had to watch the replay because I missed the punch that stopped the bout actually. But since it was so fast and it was the first in-progress fight of the night, we only booked six wagers. Betting Result: Several Bookmakers players won $645 Igor Pokrajac vs. Fabio Maldonado: Maldonado opened the first round at -160. After two rounds, MMAWeekly.com is the only place I saw that gave Pokrajac a round out of six other opinions I rely on. So as Maldonado seemed to be dominating this bout, I created a point spread line to keep from using an outrageous money line. We used Maldonado -3½ (-200), making Pokrajac +3½ (+150). Bettors must have known something the rest of us did not since all the action came in on Pokrajac, making this line move to Pokrajac +3½ (-200). Somehow at the end of two seemingly one-sided rounds, the judges awarded Pokrajac with a unanimous decision win. Betting Result: Several Bookmakers players won $2,557 Jeff Hougland vs. Yves Jabouin: Jabouin opened the first round at -315. Not much to say here but steam rolled. The only question I have is, how did the ref not stop this fight? Does he have some sort of grudge against Hougland and want to see him get hurt? The action was completely one-sided, and I did all I could to get Hougland action to even the chart out. Jabouin went as high as -6000, and that wasn’t even close to enough as the final totals were 90-80 in a unanimous decision win for Jabouin. Betting Result: Several Bookmakers players won $3,519 Jeremy Stephens vs. Donald Cerrone: Cerrone opened the first round at -250. Another one-sided affair with Stephens being outclassed in each of the three rounds.  During the middle of the third, bettors were still willing to lay Cerrone -7½ (-900), so seeing there was no more fire in Stephens, he was there just to survive the three rounds. Somehow, the charts stayed somewhat even here, as people thought Stephens would feel some urgency and try to finish him in the third after being down the first two rounds. They were hoping Stephens could steal the last round, and they would end up winning their point spread bet. However, that did not happen, as Cerrone cruised to a 90-81 unanimous decision win. Betting Result: Several Bookmakers players won $695 Jorge Lopez vs. Amir Sodallah: Sodallah opened the first round at -150. This was a tough fight to bet and also a tough fight to score. I was under the impression that Lopez was getting the best of the fight, and I moved the line that way. At one point, I had Lopez favored by -3½ (+150), and players were still laying the points figuring he was controlling the fight. Once again, the judges scored this bout a different way than the people betting from home thought it was going. Sodallah earned a split decision win 29-28, 29-28, 28-29. Betting Result: Several Bookmakers house won $2,543 Chan Sung Jung vs. Dustin Poirier: Poirier opened the first round at -400. It didn’t take long before people realized that this wasn’t going to be a cakewalk for Poirier, as Jung came out and looked good from the very beginning. The MMA odds immediately dropped to -300 in favor of Poirier, then quickly to -200, then swung to Jung as the fave at as high as -200. At the start of Round 3, I opened a new prop with Jung -3.5 (+150), and the action still continued to flow one way. I couldn’t make a line that would entice people to bet Poirier. Giving the players the biggest win on the night, Jung secured a choke in Round 4 for the submission victory. Betting Result: Several Bookmakers players won $4,776 Live in-progress wagering on MMA events is a new product offered by Several Bookmakers.   Remember, it’s never too late to bet the fights if you have a Several Bookmakers wagering account.
