Makhachev vs Tsarukyan Goes To Decision: (-150)

I like the idea of this going to decision as I expect it to be very competitive from the opening bell. I expect to get heat for this from his fanbase but, I do not think Makhachev is as elite or on “GOAT” status as his fans think. He is definitely a solid talent and deserving of being champion. His wrestling and ability to apply his style to win fights is exceptional and I applaud him for it but, he has not exactly faced anyone decent in the wrestling department and when he did he struggled (Tsarukyan). This was five years ago and both have improved their skills a lot. Tsarukyan more since he is younger and has had time to evolve his game. Makhachev, at 33, is what he will expect from him until he retires – a solid wrestler who can look like a decent striker only due to the grappling background. I am not laying -400 on Makhachev because that is way too high for how close of a fight I expect this to be. I do not mind a shot on the dog but decisions usually favor the champion in close fights so I will stick with the decision prop.

Editor’s note, the Makhachev vs Tsarukyan fight has been cancelled.

Jiri Prochazka (+115) vs Jamahal Hill

I am not a believer in Jamahal Hill as a legitimate contender. I believe he relies on intangibles such as toughness and chin more than anything, which hey, if it works it works. But that will only get you so far once you fight more elite competition. And we saw how that played out against Pereira. The underdog price on Jiri is worth taking and while it could potentially turn into a standup war I like the technical aspects and speed that Jiri presents. I believe if you matched these two up for 10 matchups that Jiri would win around 7 of them or 70%. I expect Jiri to apply pressure and put Jamahal into tricky situations, backing him up, and forcing him to throw while looking to counter Jamahal and put him out with a knockout finish.

Thanks for reading and best of luck!
