Shakur Stevenson By TKO (+100)
Shakur has received a lot of criticism (and rightfully so) for how he handled his last fight in November. No engaging, no action, and lots of circling around. I am all for the technical and less exciting parts of boxing but, there is really no way to support how he fought last time out. Not with the level of Shakur’s talent and potential. He is just simply too great. When he has the right style of opponent in front of him, such as an Oscar Valdez, Shakur Stevenson is simply a treat to watch. Masterful at avoiding getting hit by hit opposition and a technician at work with breaking them down. The now 27-year-old is set to become a free agent after this Saturday’s main event fight in his own backyard of Newark, New Jersey. I am thinking Shakur wants to silence the doubters and critics with a big win by finish. Shakur’s opponent, Artem Harutyunyan, presents just that type of style for Shakur to win in emphatic fashion.
O’Shaquie Foster Wins By Decision (+100)
The challenger, Conceicao, gave a great effort against Navarrete in November with a draw from the judges. My prediction is that the strong jabs from the champion will be too much for Conceicao to overcome. The pressure and volume from Foster is a lot to handle for fighters and I love the fact that he knows when to turn it up to the next level. Expect a competitive fight in the early rounds but Foster lapping his challenger once the fight heats up.
