Prop: Colby Covington Moneyline (+140) & By Decision (+230)
Covington is still one of the very best in his division and the only one that was preventing him from becoming champion at 170 lbs. was Kamaru Usman. Now that Usman seems to be on the decline and is testing the waters at middleweight it opens up the huge opportunity for Covington
to claim the welterweight title. Leon Edwards is not a bad fighter but he is definitely a step down in terms of fighting ability as opposed to the previous title holder in Usman.
Usman was able to match Covington’s pace and wrestling for the majority of their two fights which allowed him to have success. Leon Edwards is obviously nowhere near the level of Usman’s wrestling pedigree and I think him being closer to Covington’s size will aid the challenger’s ability to push him against the cage and take him down. We all know Covington is a machine when it comes to pace and striking volume so I have zero doubts on him slowing down. I think the value is on the challenger here and it is a really good matchup for Covington to come out victorious and finally claim that championship that eluded him for many years.
