Simply put, Calvin Kattar has all the edges in the standup game in a style of fight like this where it matters most. Volume, technique, and durability are the biggest pros of Kattar’s game, and he leaves no stone unturned in using all parts of that to take over fights.
While Emmett has great power it is his endurance and ability to take punishment that is not his strong suit. Emmett can have fight-changing power, but I think he will need to hit a clean hard shot early on while he still is fresh if he wants a chance at winning this fight. Kattar’s volume and pressure will become more of an issue for Emmett the longer this fight goes. Kattar has taken a beating before from Holloway in what could have been deemed career altering but, he bounced back in a big way handing a huge loss to Giga Chikadze.
I could see a Kattar decision here, but I am confident a TKO finish happens for him once Emmett slows down enough and cannot match the output of Kattar leading to maybe a fourth or fifth round stoppage.
