Bobby Green wins by Decision (+220)
I still do not understand why oddsmakers and bettors still back Vannata so much. I think both of them overrate him very much now because he has not done anything special since the Makdessi knockout. Since then he has just two wins in a total of seven fights with two draws. I think he has been very much an underwhelming fighter now and the hype just is not there anymore to justify his odds in a lot of these fights.
As for Bobby Green, while I don’t think he has performed that well either in several fights, he is the much better fighter between the two. This fight should be contested on the feet for at least 90% of the fight if not all. Neither attempt takedowns and are confident in their standup game. Green is the much quicker and technical striker and should be able to get the better of the exchanges. Green has also fought much better competition ranging from fighters such as Edson Barboza and Dustin Poirier. Green isn’t very high in volume either like Vannata but, I think he will be able to really pick apart Vannata here and gain confidence as the fight goes on in the hopes of securing a decision victory.
I also took Bobby Green at his moneyline price of (+125). It is tough to see Green lose this fight once you weigh in both of their skills and intangibles and for the underdog money I’m willing to take a bet on him in a fight that I think he should be favored in.
