Jorge Masvidal vs Nate Diaz
Two incredibly durable fighters with great gas tanks. This should be a dog fight and since neither fighter have insta-KO power I see this fight going to a decision. Masvidal does have some power behind his hands but Nate’s chin and rate of recovery is so grand I’m not worried about him getting finished. I think Nate’s size, great use of his jab, clinch control and volume will win him this fight. Masvidal has struggled plenty of times in the past with volume and maintaining pressure on his opponents while Nate is the master of volume and pace.
Props: Fight goes to decision (-130) and Nate Diaz wins by decision (+305)
Darren Till vs Kelvin Gastelum
This is a really great middleweight matchup and the toughest fight for Till to this date in my opinion. I’ve never thought much of Till and to be honest he has been overrated by the product when he has faced good competition. A dominant submission loss from Tyron Woodley and then a starching KO from Masvidal leaves him on the edge of facing a three-fight losing skid this weekend. I have Gastelum handling Till with not much problem. He is the quicker, more powerful, and better countering fighter. Gastelum can take punches too as he is coming in and Till might not be able to take his power very well. Gastelum’s hands should be able to give Till fits and eventually score a TKO win over him.
Prop: Kelvin Gastelum wins by TKO (+190)
Stephen Thompson vs Vicente Luque
I’m gambling on the fact that Thompson is getting older here and perhaps the flash KO loss to Pettis has hurt his durability and chin now. He’s 36 now and it doesn’t take long at those stages of a fighter’s career to start to see a decline. Luque, 27, is an absolute tank of a fighter at welterweight and is only getting better. His combos with leg kicks are very powerful filled with technical prowess. I’m taking a shot on Luque finding Thompson’s chin to score the knockout victory. Plus, the odds aren’t bad either.
Prop: Vincente Luque wins by TKO (+380)
Corey Anderson vs Johnny Walker
Anderson’s best way to win in this fight much like every other fight is to avoid getting his chin touched by anyone with power. That seems pretty obvious for any fighter in a cage fight but this goes especially for Corey Anderson as he truly cannot take too many punches from powerful strikers. Johnny Walker with the height and reach advantage coupled with his power should be able to find the target on Anderson’s chin.
Prop: Johnny Walker wins by TKO (-135)
