Mike Perry vs Vincente Luque
A very fun welterweight fight that could be fight of the night takes place in the co-main event this Saturday as ‘Platinum’ Mike Perry meets Vincente Luque.
Luque should honestly be able to piece up Perry and work him across the majority of fifteen minutes. Perry will probably have his moments here and there due to his power but not much else. Luque is quietly but quickly moving up the ranks of the 170 lb. division by finishing just about every fighter he has met in the cage – from viscous knockouts to slick submissions he has a plethora of ways to get the job done.
As for Mike Perry, he used to be pretty much a knockout or bust kind of fighter. Packing big power behind both hands and putting on exciting fights in the process. After moving his camp to Jackson’s MMA, we started to see Perry with a more economical and game planned approach to his fights. He’s just not going for the kill anymore and fighting much smarter now. While Perry has just silly power and really great durability and chin, he doesn’t offer much else. Anyone with a decent ground game and good striking can make him look silly at times.
I think Luque is the kind of fighter that has all of the tools in his belt to piece up ‘Platinum’ and win somewhat of an easy decision as long as he steers clear of the big power shots from Perry. Perry, like I mentioned above is a very durable fighter and I think Luque will pick his shots and not get drawn into a firefight. I have to take Vincente Luque by decision prop as it is pretty good value.
Prop: Vincente Luque wins by Decision (+245)
