Chan Sung Jung vs Renato Moicano
Moicano is returning off his first TKO loss against no doubt his toughest opponent to date in the former featherweight champion Jose Aldo. I felt he gave Aldo too much respect and probably could’ve given him a tougher fight. He’s looking to rebound this weekend against the ever so tough Chan Sung Jung, also dubbed as “The Korean Zombie”. Zombie has been in some of the best and craziest fights in his career, but unfortunate injuries and serving mandatory time in the South Korean military has put a significant pause on his young MMA career.
Jung isn’t really the same fighter he once was due to the injuries and time away from the sport, but he still carries power in his hands and unpredictability inside the cage. I’d deem him on a slow declining slope – I don’t think he is completely shot but up against Moicano this weekend he may be in some serious trouble unless he can put immediate pressure on Moicano to get a TKO finish.
I’m on the other side and think Moicano gets back on track with a big finish over Jung. As long as Moicano doesn’t get pulled into a slug fest with Jung he should be fine. I’m officially picking Moicano to win by TKO in probably round two.
