Donald Cerrone vs. Tony Ferguson
The 36-year old Cerrone will be in a very tough fight this weekend against the man named “El Cucuy”. When Cerrone is allowed to get his rhythm early on then he is a really great fighter and provides many problems for his opponents. However, Ferguson is the kind of fighter who never gives his opponents breathing room. He is one of the best pressure fighters in the game today and mixes it up with a wide variety of attacks involving knees, elbows, spinning back fists and all sorts of crazy offense. Cerrone is known as the fighter who needs to get off to a hot start in order to usually be victorious in his fights. As long as Ferguson gets the pressure started immediately and uses his reach to keep giving Cerrone fits then he will be in a lot of trouble from the get-go. Cerrone has trouble with great standup fighters more often than not and Ferguson is definitely one of those kinds of fighters. He isn’t a one-punch knockout artist but a volume striker; the accumulation of strikes that break you down. I believe Ferguson will break down Cerrone this weekend en-route to a TKO finish. I also like the value in the play as I believe Ferguson has a better chance of finishing Cerrone than what the oddsmakers are saying.
Prop: Tony Ferguson wins by TKO (+350)
Valentina Shevchenko vs. Jessica Eye
There isn’t a whole lot to breakdown for this fight in my honest opinion. If you’ve seen both fighters compete at all then you know just big the skill gap is between the two. Valentina fights a very low-volume, but precise fight. I expect her to just pick apart Eye for the majority of this fight. She could take her down and beat her up too if she chose that route. Either way, I’m not really expecting a finish to happen and just a very easy title defense for Shevchenko. At (+185) for unanimous decision I have to release to clientele. If Shevchenko wins by decision it will definitely be by unanimous.
Prop: Shevchenko wins by unanimous decision (+185)
