LFA 62 takes place at The Bomb Factory in Dallas, Texas on Friday (Mar. 22, 2019) at 10pm ET live on AXS TV. With bantamweight champion Miles Johns injured, the interim 135-pound title is up for grabs in the main event as current interim flyweight champion Casey Kenney jumps up a weight class to face undefeated Vince Cachero.
Kenney (10-1-1) captured the interim LFA flyweight title in his last bout, defeating Factory X standout Brandon Royval at LFA 53 by unanimous decision. The 27-year-old Contender Series veteran also fought at bantamweight against UFC vet Roman Salazar last June and defeated him by decision at LFA 44.
Cachero (6-0) was slated to face Johns in this matchup before the injury and last competed at LFA 54 in November where he defeated Joe Murphy by unanimous decision. “The Anomaly” has finished three of his six career opponents made his pro-MMA debut in Feb. 2017.
Sticking in the bantamweight division, in the co-main event Levi Mowles battles Ahmet Kayretli
Mowles (10-4) is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Roufusport standout Raufeon Stots at LFA 55 in November and will look to avoid two-straight losses for the first time in his career. The 23-year-old has finished seven of his 14-career opponents.
Kayretli (8-2) has remained undefeated in his last three bouts, including a unanimous decision win over Andre Salas at LFA 49 in September. The Turkish born bantamweight has only gone the distance three times in his career.
Also on the card, strawweight Vanessa Demopoulos looks to get back on the winning track against Valerie Soto
