Kickboxing promotion GLORY returns this Friday (September 9, 2016) for what has now become a near-monthly event. The show will air live from Trenton, New Jersey. Glory 33 features a heavyweight title bout, a middleweight title bout and several other high profile heavyweight fights. The heavyweight title bout features champion Rico Verhoeven against challenger Anderson Silva (the kickboxer). Silva (41-14-1) earned his shot at the gold by defeating Gordon Haupt via first round TKO (liver kick) this past July. Verhoeven (48-10-1) is the deserved heavy favorite, having been the Glory Heavyweight Champion for over two years now, successfully defending the title four times, most recently this past March at Glory 28 in France. The middleweight title bout features champion Simon Marcus against challenger Jason Wilnis. Marcus (44-2-2) captured the title this past February from Arem Levin while Wilnis (27-6-1) earned his title shot with a victory over Joe Schilling at Glory 30 in May. Oddsmaker Nick Kalikas opened the betting lines for GLORY 33 today at Several Bookmakers. The main card will air on ESPN 3 at 8:30 pm ET with the superfight series preceding it on UFC Fight Pass at 7:30 pm ET. ——————– Glory 33: New Jersey September 9, 2016 Sun National Bank Center Trenton, New Jersey, USA MAIN CARD – Live on ESPN2 & ESPN3 Heavyweight Title: Anderson Silva +485 Rico Verhoeven -855 – Heavyweight: Guto Inocente +100 Hesdy Gerges -140 – SUPERFIGHT SERIES – Live on UFC Fight Pass Middleweight Title: Jason Wilnis +180 Simon Marcus -260 – Heavyweight: Anthony McDonald +650 Chi-Lewis Parry -1350 ——————– Click below to bet the fights now!
