MMAOddsBreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with UFC 203 flyweight Ian McCall as he prepares for his upcoming preliminary card bout this Saturday night (September 10, 2016) against Ray Borg at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio.
The former top contender is hoping to get back into the title mix after a long layoff, and he feels he has more than enough physical ability to defeat Borg come fight time:
“I’m gonna knock him out. I’ve been a fan of Ray Borg since I first saw him in the UFC. He’s exciting, young, tenacious and strong and he goes for it. Then you see him lose, especially a young fighter lose and it endears you to them. I saw him fight [Justin] Scoggins and I was like, ‘Oh shit.’ It got to a point where he pulled guard and he broke. It sucks to see that happen to a fighter you admire but now that I know I’m fighting him, I’m like, ‘Oh, I’ve got you bitch!’ He couldn’t deal with Justin’s movement and I feel I move better than Justin. I move different, but I move with more power. He doesn’t like the body kicks. Sure, my right arm doesn’t work very well but I’ll still knock you out with it. Wrestling-wise, we’re both power wrestlers but I’m slicker than he is. Jiu-jitsu-wise, he’s more aggressive with submissions but that’s because I prefer to punch people. I choose violence.”
