The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) was in Hamburg, Germany for the first time in promotional history with UFC Fight Night 93: Arlovski vs Barnett. Following the night of action, let’s take a look at which of the evening’s competitors we may no longer see going to work inside the Octagon… ON THE CHOPPING BLOCK Nicolas Dalby Dalby was dominated by Peter Sobotta for three rounds of action for a unanimous decision defeat on the judges’ scorecards. He had no answer for Sobotta’s grappling and lost in a one-sided affair. The loss puts him on a two fight skid inside the Octagon and makes him winless his his last three outings. Following a close split decision win over Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos in his UFC debut, he fought to a Majority Draw against Darren Till, and has since dropped back to back unanimous decisions to Zak Cummings and the aforementioned Sobotta. At this point, I think it is 50/50 whether the UFC gives him another shot or decides to part ways with him. I think they will likely keep him around for another European card in the future, but I would not be at all surprised to see him cut after yesterdays poor performance. Leandro Issa Issa lost a one-sided unanimous decision against Taylor Lapilus. He was unable to take the fight to the mat and had absolutely no answer for “Double Impact” on the feet. The Brazilian is now 2-3 inside the Octagon and on a two fight losing streak following Saturday’s loss to Lapilus. After dropping back to back one-sided decisions to Iuri Alcantara, and Lapilus, respectively, I think there is a decent chance that the promotion decides to send him a pink slip. I think it is 50/50 as to whether he gets released or not, but I personally hope to see him get one more chance.
