Here is my parlay: Welterweight bout: Tim Means (-420) vs Sabah Homasi (+335) Gabe’s Thoughts: Homasi is taking this bout on short notice, replacing an injured Sean Strickland. He last saw action less than a week ago, where he scored a second round knockout of veteran Jorge Patino at Titan FC 40. I expect this to be a fun fight in the UFC’s welterweight division, though I do think it is Means’ fight to lose. Coming off a half-year layoff due to suspension for drugs that ultimately ended up being tainted, Means is eager to get back in the Octagon and get his hand raised. I see him getting the better of Homasi for the majority of three rounds in this contest to pick up a unanimous decision victory on the judges’ scorecards, potentially stopping him along the way. Gabe’s Call: Means by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) Bantamweight bout: Cody Garbrandt (-500) vs Takeya Mizugaki (+400) Gabe’s Thoughts: Mizugaki, who is used to competing several times a year, is coming off a rare extended layoff. I think this could either be a good thing for him or a bad thing, but It only means whether he will be competitive or if Garbrandt will completely run away with him, potentially making quick work of him. I think Garbrandt can find success in keeping this fight standing and outboxing Mizugaki for the majority of 15 minutes to earn the unanimous nod from the judges’ at Octagon-side and I think he also has a good chance of picking up a finish along the way.
