The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is back in the fight capital of the world, Las Vegas, NV on August 20, 2016 with UFC 202: Diaz vs McGregor II. Main card action will be kicking off on Pay Per View at 10pm ET, with preliminary bouts preceding it on FOX Sports 1 at 8pm ET and on UFC Fight Pass at 6:30pm ET. The UFC 202 Pay Per View fight card is set to kick off with a welterweight showdown between Tim Means and Sabah Homasi. Means is coming off a suspension, following a second round knockout of John “Doomsday” Howard, and Homasi is making his UFC debut after scoring a second round knockout of veteran Jorge Patino at Titan FC 40 literally less than a week ago. He is a short notice replacement for Sean Strickland, who was forced out of the contest with an injury. Korean Hyun Gyu Lim and promotional newcomer Mike Perry will take center stage for the next bout of the evening in Las Vegas. This welterweight battle between two finishers is not expected to go the full three round distance and should get the show rolling on a high note. Lim has not seen action in over a year, where he lost by second round TKO against Neil Magny, after hurting and nearly finishing Magny in the opening stanza. Being unable to get the finish made him gas, and Magny capitalized and used his superior conditioning to win the fight with a finish. Perry is taking this fight on short notice as a late injury replacement for Sultan Aliev. He is an undefeated 170-pounder who owns all six of his professional mixed martial arts victories by way of T/KO. The welterweight showdowns continue, as Rick “The Horror” Story looks to make it four in a row for himself inside the Octagon, while simultaneously giving Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone his first taste of welterweight defeat. These two could very well walk away with the evening’s “Fight of the Night” honors. Cerrone is 2-0 since moving up to the UFC’s 170-pound division, with a first round triangle choke submission of Alex Oliveira and a third round TKO of former UFC middleweight title challenger Patrick “The Predator” Cote. In the co-main event of the evening, Anthony “Rumble” Johnson will look to make it three in a row for himself inside the Octagon when he takes on the Brazilian Glover Teixeira, who will be looking for his fouth straight. This light heavyweight scrap is being recognized as a potential title eliminator, so we will likely see the victor next in line to take on Daniel Cormier and his UFC 205-pound title. Headlining the UFC 202 Pay Per View fight card will be another welterweight bout, though not technically between welterweights; Nate Diaz will face off against Conor McGregor in a rematch that saw him defeat the Irishman via second round rear naked choke submission. After getting his first taste of Octagon defeat, “Notorious” is out for revenge. Diaz got the opportunity when Rafael dos Anjos pulled out of his bout with McGregor due to a broken foot, and the Stockton, CA native certainly made the most of it. McGregor got the better of Diaz in the early going of the contest, but as fatigue began to set in, Diaz took over. After outboxing and hurting McGregor on the feet, the Irishman opted to take the fight to the mat, where Diaz found himself in his world, quickly made a reveral and got in top position, ultimately securing the choke for the quick tap.
