Here are my prop plays: Trevor Smith (+115) vs Trevor Gigliotti (-135) Smith by Decision (+470) 1u to win 4.7u Smith in Round Three (+1150) .5u to win 5.75u I think Smith is a big step up in competition for the undefeated 22 year old promotional newcomer and I see Smith’s veteran experience benefiting him in this contest. I see him getting the better of Gigliotti over the course of three rounds to pick up a unanimous decision victory on the judges’ scorecards, but I think there’s a chance he puts him away in this match-up, likely after taking him into deep waters. Octagon jitters could play a factor with Gigliotti against a grinder like Smith, especially considering the fact that he has finished most of his fights in the opening round. I think Smith either wins this fight on the cards or takes Gigliotti into deep waters and drowns him. Maryna Moroz (-255) vs Danielle Taylor (+215) Taylor by Decision (+600) .5u to win 3u I think Taylor is a live dog in this women’s strawweight contest at her current underdog price of +215, and while I could see her stopping Moroz with strikes, I think she is more likely to win this fight on the judges’ scorecards. Needless to say, I think the prop on Taylor winning her UFC debut by Decision at +600 offers too much value to pass up, so I’ll have to take a small shot. David Teymur (-135) vs Alexander Novelli (+115) Teymur Inside the Distance (+299) 1u to win 2.99u I think Teymur is slightly more likely to win this fight inside the distance than he is on the judges’ scorecards, despite the fact that Novelli has never been stopped with strikes in his 7-1 pro career. Keeping that in mind, the prop on Teymur by Decision is +175, while the Inside the Distance prop is at +299. Since I feel a finish is slightly more likely, I think the +299 line is the value play here in this lightweight contest. Cub Swanson (-400) vs Tatsuya Kawajiri (+325) Kawajiri by Decision (+475) 1u to win 4.75u In short, I think this featherweight match-up hits the judges’ scorecards more often than not, where Swanson gets his hand raised more often than not. However, I think Kawajiri manages to get his hand raised enough times to make him worth a one unit play at +470.
