The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) heads Salt Lake City, UT for the first time in promotional history with UFC Fight Night 92: Rodriguez vs Caceres. Main card action will be live on FOX Sports 1 at 10pm ET. Preliminary action will precede on the saem channel at 8pm ET and on UFC Fight Pass at 7pm ET. If interested in wagering on any bouts for this fight card, all betting lines will be made available at Several Bookmakerss. My Fights to AVOID betting are: Heavyweight bout: Marcin Tybura (-135) vs Viktor Pesta (+105) Gabe’s Thoughts: This is a closely contested match-up in the UFC’s heavyweight division and I see absolutely no value on either fighter for a wager at the current betting odds. This is likely a “loser goes home” bout, so I expect whoever shows up more hungry will get his hand raised. This is one heavyweight contest I think it is most wise to stay away from. I say avoid this one at the sportsbooks come Saturday night. Gabe’s Call: Tybura by Split Decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28) Gabe’s Recommended Play: AVOID Lightweight bout: Horacio Gutierrez (+175) vs Teruto Ishihara (-225) Gabe’s Thoughts: I think Ishihara should be the betting favorite heading into this 155-pound contest, however I do not agree with his currently offered price of -225, so at the current odds, I think this bout is a “dog or pass” situation. I cannot trust Gutierrez against Ishihara here, and I don’t think +175 is enticing enough for me to take the gamble. I admit there’s a little bit of value with him at the current price, but personally I can’t bring myself to touch it. I thinkt his fight is closer than the current odds suggest, but for me, this is ultimately going to be a fight I avoid at the sportsbook this weekend. Gabe’s Call: Ishihara by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) Gabe’s Recommended Play: AVOID Heavyweight bout: Chase Sherman (+120) vs Justin Ledet (-150) Gabe’s Thoughts: This is a pairing of heavyweights making their debuts inside the Octagon. I think there are currently too many questions surrounding both fighters to confidently make a wager on this fight, so I am going to keep my wallet away from this one come Saturday night. That said, mainly for his size advantage, I am siding with the underdog Sherman to get his hand raised in this contest. He is a legitimate heavyweight, while Ledet’s future is at 205-pounds. Gabe’s Call: Sherman by T/KO (punches, 3:05 round 1) Gabe’s Recommended Play: AVOID
