With the European MMA scene expanding quickly, the opportunities for betting on these fights are also increasing at a rapid rate. As such, Several Bookmakers will now be offering odds on various European MMA events. MMA Oddsbreaker will also be covering these events moving forward with opening odds. Over time, there may be increased content including picks and previews for these events as well. This weekend, there are two events on the schedule over in Europe, and odds are live over at Several Bookmakers for both. Check them out: ——————– European MMA 5 Falconer Salen – Frederiksberg, Denmark April 19, 2013 Morten Djursaa -350 Waachim Spiritwolf +250 Christian Colombo -155 Bjoern Schmiedeberg +115 Simon Carlsen -350 Harry McLeman +250 Rune Petersen -145 Gino Singh +105 Emil Meek -350 Manu Garcia Nieto +250 Soren Bak -420 Jamie Reynolds +300 Maria Djursaa -210 Jorina Baars +160 ——————– Raju-11 Rocca al Mare Hall – Tallinn, Estonia April 20, 2013 Ilja Drovnjasin -230 Ake Bergvall +170 Helin Paara -125 Zarah Fairn -115 Walid Seghir -230 Lauri Ulenurm +170 Henri Hiiemae -125 Pascal Louissaint -115 Dmitri Ivanov -245 Leonardo D’auria +175 Jorgen Matsi -285 Giorgio Belsanti +205 ——————– Brad’s Analysis: My knowledge on the European MMA scene is limited at this point, as it is something I haven’t researched as I do North American events. However, as we at MMA Oddsbreaker continue to offer lines for these cards, I will look for lines that seem out of place and where there may be some value. I am aware that in the co-main event of EMMA 5, Christian Colombo is a big, heavy-hitting fighter who tips the scales at the Heavyweight limit of 265lbs. His size results in questionable cardio, and that’s where his opponent Bjoern Schmiedeberg may be able to take advantage. Schmiedeberg has gone undefeated in his last eight bouts, including three that have gone the full 25-minute distance. His proven cardio could be the difference in this fight, and makes him an interesting target as an underdog. The other line that stands out to me is at Raju-11, where Pascal Louissaint is a slight underdog to Henri Hiiemae. Louissaint’s two career losses have both come in the second fight of two night tournaments and he possesses a decent submission game. Hiiemae seems to favor his submission game, but he has proven more vulnerable in that area than Louissaint. Just a hunch here, but I think the Frenchman’s grappling will prove superior. Again, don’t go out and blow thousands of dollars on betting either of these fights. At this point, with most of the fighters on the European scene so unknown they are still very high variance bets, and as mentioned earlier this is not yet my area of expertise when it comes to MMA… yet.
