UFC Fight Night 91: McDonald vs Lineker Date: July 13, 2016 Arena: Denny Sanford Premier Center City: Sioux Falls, SD The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is set to make it’s inaugral trip to Sioux Falls, SD for UFC Fight Night 91: McDonald vs Lineker. This will be first official fight card under the new UFC regime. The 12-fight card is set to get going with preliminary action on UFC Fight Pass at 5:30pm ET and continuing on FOX Sports 1 at 7pm ET. Main card action will be underway at 9pm ET, also on FOX Sports 1. If interested in wagering on these ‘FOTN’ props or any other plays for this fight card, all betting lines will be made available at Several Bookmakerss. The ‘Fight of the Night’ plays that hold the most value are: Nguyen/Smolka +450 || 1u to win 4.5u In my opinion, Ben Nguyen vs Louis Smolka is the one fight on this entire card that has the highest chance or producing fireworks and ultimately walking away with the evening’s ‘Fight of Night’ bonus. I expect this to be a barn-burner in the UFC’s flyweight division and I believe both 125-pounders will leave it all inside the Octagon in an effort to get their hands raised. The fact that Nguyen will be competing in front of his native hometown crowd does not hurt, either. Nguyen is riding a two-fight winning steak inside the Octagon with a pair of first round finishes of Alpetkin Ozkilic and Ryan Benoit, and Smolka currently enjoys a three-fight winning streak with wins over Richie Vaculik, Neil Seery and Paddy Holohan. The winner of this contest will continue to climb up the UFC’s 125-pound rankings and get closer to a title shot in the razor-thin division, while the loser will see an unfortunate trip back to the drawing board. Murphy/Chookagian +720 || .5u to win 3.6u I think this is going to be a fun fight in the women’s bantamweight division. Murphy will be looking to make it two in a row for herself inside the Octagon against undefeated promotional newcomer Chookagian, who in turn looks for the biggest victory of her professional mixed martial arts career in what is her stiffest test to date. Murphy’s gameplan will likely be to grind Chookagian out but I think Chookagian will make it tough for her to do. I think she will be competitive in this fight, and will likely be constantly looking for the finish against Murphy, which I feel will ultimately result in an entertaining scrap. Should these ladies manage to take home the evening’s ‘Fight of the Night’ honors, it would mean the second time for Murphy, while obviously being the first for UFC newcomer Chookagian.
