The 12-fight card airs entirely on UFC Fight Pass, with preliminary action kicking off 6:30pm ET, with main card action getting underway at 10pm ET. Here is my parlay: Welterweight bout: Mike Pyle (-120) vs Alberto Mina (+100) Gabe’s Thoughts: I think Pyle’s veteran experience will benefit him in this contest and I see him walking away with a victory, as long as he avoids getting clipped and put to sleep. His chin is still a concern, so that remains a worry; but the only real worry, I feel. That’s because I see him getting the better of Mina on the feet in this contest, as well as on the mat. I think he either takes him down in the opening stanza and secures a submission victory, or he puts Mina away via T/KO in the second or third, when fatigue begins to set in for Mina. I believe this is Pyle’s fight to lose, and as long as he fights smart and has good defense, he should walk away with the win and extend his winning streak to two, following a third round knockout of Sean Spencer in his most recent outing inside the Octagon. I think Pyle should be a 2-to-1 betting favorite heading into this welterweight contest, so I like him at his current offering price of -120. Gabe’s Call: Pyle by T/KO (strikes, 3:11 round 2) Bantamweight bout: Anthony Birchak (-255) vs Dileno Lopes (+215) Gabe’s Thoughts: I believe Birchak is the superior mixed martial artist of the two heading into this 135-pound contest and I see him getting the better of Lopes to return to the win column following his first round knockout loss against Thomas Almeida. I see Birchak using his superior wrestling to take the fight to the mat and dominate Lopes there, where his advantages in size and strength will also benefit him. I see him battering Lopes on the mat and eventually finding his neck for a rear naked choke finish; I could see it coming in the first round, but it might be more likely in the second, after some fatigue has begun to set in for Lopes. I think Birchak should be a -320 betting favorite heading into this contest, so I see value in him at his current asking price of -255. I would have said he should be a bigger favorite than that, were it not for the fact that he is coming off a devastating knockout loss, and it is always a question mark what that will do to a fighter and he will perform in the future. That said, it may actually end up benefit us in this case, because if Birchak is extra cautious following his knockout loss, then it would likely play more into the gameplan we need him to follow to come out with the W.
