Paige VanZant vs. Bec Rawlings set for UFC on FOX 21 in Vancouver Paige VanZant announced on ESPN’s “SportsCenter” Thursday that she’ll be facing Bec Rawlings at August’s UFC on FOX 21 card. VanZant (6-2) returns to the cage for the first time since her one sided submission loss against Rose Namajunas at December’s UFC Fight Night 80 event. The layoff was due to her participation in ‘Dancing With The Stars.’ Rawlings (7-4) heads into this matchup off back-to-back victories over Lisa Ellis and Seo Hee Ham. She dropped her UFC debut to Heather Jo Clarke at the TUF 20 Finale in 2014. UFC on FOX 21 takes place Aug. 27 at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Teixeira (25-4) was initially slated to take on Anthony “Rumble” Johnson, who ended up pulling out of the fight due to personal issues. The Brazilian is coming off three straight stoppage victories over Rashad Evans, Patrick Cummins and Ovince St. Preux. UFC on FOX 20 takes place at the United Center in Chicago. Dennis Bermudez vs. Rony Jason added to UFC Fight Night 92 Newsday reports that featherweights Dennis Bermudez and Rony Jason have been added to UFC Fight Night 92. Bermudez (15-5) bounced back from back-to-back losses by taking out Tatsuya Kawajiri at UFC Fight Night 83 back in February. Jason (14-5) hasn’t competed since a UFC Fight Night 67 victory over Damon Jackson over a year ago. That win was later turned into a “no contest” due to Jason testing positive for diuretics. UFC Fight Night 92 takes place on Aug. 6 at Vivint Smart Home Arena in Salt Lake City, Utah. Yair Rodriguez vs. Alex Caceres is the main event. Gesias “JZ” Cavalcante vs. Freddy Assuncao lightweight title fight set as Titan FC 40 headliner MMAFighting also reported Thursday that newly crowned Titan FC lightweight champion Gesias Cavalcante will defend his title against Freddy Assuncao. Cavalcante (20-8-1, 2 NC) is coming off an impressive first-round knockout over Pat Healy at Titan FC 39, where he captured the promotions vacant lightweight title (vacated by Rick Hawn). Assuncao (9-1) has been on the sidelines due to injury and hasn’t competed since a victory at Titan FC 34 over Cody Bollinger. Assuncao moves up to lightweight for the first time in his career and heads into this contest off eight-straight victories. Titan FC 40 takes place Aug. 5 in Coral Gables, Fla. The card will take place at the Bank United Center and air on UFC Fight Pass.
