Corey Anderson vs Ilir Latifi
In what should be a great, back-n-forth light heavyweight fight I think Corey Anderson has all the edges to win this fight. With the exception of size Anderson should be able to outwork Latifi with pressure and wrestling to secure the decision win. I won’t rule out Latifi to possibly land a huge punch to hurt Anderson (because Anderson’s chin isn’t exactly durable) but I do think Anderson can play it safe with wrestling and taking his time. If he can keep the pressure on Latifi we may see Latifi slow down which will only make the fight easier for Anderson.
Prop: Anderson wins by decision (+170)
Carlos Condit vs Michael Chiesa
Condit hasn’t exactly looked like himself in his previous fights as he has taken horrible losses. Natural decline and all of the wars he has been in may finally be catching up to him at 34 years of age. Michael Chiesa has a path to victory here by using wrestling which has always been Condit’s Achilles heel throughout his career. However, I have to take a shot on Condit this weekend as I believe Chiesa isn’t close in skill to the previous opponents Condit has lost to. There is a bit of a size difference and if Condit can work off his back and do damage as well as on the feet then I do think he has a better shot at winning a decision than the odds would apply.
Prop: Condit wins by decision (+454)
Jon Jones vs Alexander Gustafsson
Barring a crazy knockout that I don’t really see happening, I’m pretty much expecting another back-n-forth and competitive fight for the title this weekend that will hit the judges’ scorecards. Gustafsson is the worst kind of matchup for Jones and he should still give fits this weekend in the standup department. Neither fighter is some crazy finisher as both have relied on picking apart their opponents to a decision now. I don’t expect either one of them to try and finish the other. It should be another chess match with both taking as little risks as possible. I still lean Jones to get his hand raised this weekend but it won’t be a walk in the park. Jones will have to rely on his oblique kicks, elbows, and reach advantage to secure the decision win this weekend. If he wants to make this task even easier then he should consider mixing in takedowns too to frustrate his Swedish opponent.
Prop: Jones wins by decision (+219)
