RIP Jordan Parsons (1990-2016) Tragic news in the MMA world Wednesday, Bellator fighter Jordan Parsons passed away following a hit-and-run incident Sunday. He was only 25 years old. Parsons (11-2) went 2-1 under the Bellator banner with stoppage victories over Tim Bazer and Julio Cesar Neves. He was scheduled to take on Adam Piccolotti at Bellator 154 next Friday. Bellator president Scott Coker released a statement Wednesday afternoon following the news. “It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of a dear member of the Bellator family, Jordan Parsons, Jordan was an exceptional athlete and a rising star in the sport. But more importantly, he was an exceptional young man. Jordan was hard-working, dedicated, intelligent, and a pleasure to be around. He represented all the reasons we love this sport. It is a terribly tragic loss and our thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends, and teammates.” The hit and run incident happened Sunday, May 1, around 12:30 a.m. at the corner of Lindell Blvd. and South Federal Highway in Delray Beach. Parsons was rushed to the hospital and remained in critical condition until his death on Wednesday. The vehicle involved is believed to be a Silver 2012 or 2013 Range Rover Sport. It left behind a side mirror at the scene and is believed to have damage to its left side.
