UFC Fight Night 86 Date: April 8, 2016 Arena: Arena Zagreb City: Zagreb, Croatia The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will be making a trip to Zagreb, Croatia for the first time in promotional history with UFC Fight Night 86: Rothwell vs Dos Santos. The main card will get going at 2pm ET on FOX Sports 1, with preliminary action preceding it on the same channel at noon ET and 10:30am ET on UFC Fight Pass. If interested in wagering on any bouts for this fight card, all betting lines will be made available at Several Bookmakerss. My Fights to AVOID betting are: Heavyweight bout: Marcin Tybura (-140) vs Timothy Johnson (+130) Gabe’s Thoughts: Tybura is a heavyweight prospect making his UFC debut against Johnson, who will be looking to get back into the win column following a unanimous decision loss to Jared Rosholt in his most recent outing inside the Octagon. I agree with the betting odds in that this is a close fight in which Tybura should be slightly favored. I think he can win this fight on the feet or on the mat, but I don’t see any value in him for a wager at these odds, mostly because it is his promotional debut, so I will be avoiding this bout at the sportsbooks this weekend. Gabe’s Call: Tybura by Submission (arm triangle choke, 2:33 round 1) Gabe’s Recommended Play: AVOID Bantamweight bout: Alejandro Perez (+125) vs Ian Entwistle (-125) Gabe’s Thoughts: This is a tough fight to bet on. Either Entwistle will catch Perez or end up losing. It’s a real gamble and I’m not willing to make it, so this will be a fight I avoid at the sportsbooks come Sunday. Gabe’s Call: Perez by T/KO (strikes, 2:54 round 2) Gabe’s Recommended Play: AVOID Heavyweight bout: Cyril Asker (+135) vs Jared Cannonier (-145) Gabe’s Thoughts: I agree with the current betting odds for this heavyweight contest in that it is essentially a coin-flip, which means I see no value on either fighter as far as a wager is concerned. I think it is a fight Cannonier should be able to win but I do not trust him right now. If he is not on top of his game, a motivated Asker could put him away. I could see this fight going either way but I lean with Cannonier to get his hand raised, likely by first round T/KO. There’s no value in him to pull the trigger on a play at the current odds, so this ultimately has to be a fight I avoid at the sportsbooks this weekend, and one to sit back and enjoy. Gabe’s Call: Cannonier by T/KO (strikes, 4:12 round 1) Gabe’s Recommended Play: AVOID
