McGregor vs. Diaz II headlines UFC 200; Aldo vs. Edgar II booked for interim featherweight title UFC officials confirmed Wednesday evening that Conor McGregor vs. Nate Diaz II will headline UFC 200 in July in a welterweight affair. In addition the promotion announced that Jose Aldo and Frankie Edgar will fight for an interim 145-pound belt. McGregor (19-3) is coming off his first UFC loss to the aforementioned Diaz as he was submitted in the second round at UFC 196. Diaz (19-10) heads into the rematch off back-to-back victories over McGregor and Michael Johnson. Aldo (25-2) suffered his first defeat in 10-years as McGregor knocked him out in the 13-seconds at UFC 194. Edgar (20-4-1) is on a five-fight win streak and most recently earned a first round knockout over Chad Mendes at the TUF 22 Finale. No word on if the Aldo vs. Edgar rematch will serve as the co-main event for this card. Also made official for the card is a lightweight bout pitting between Joe Lauzon (25-11) and Diego Sanchez (26-8). UFC 200 event takes place July 9 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Rosholt (14-3) gets his pink slip following a unanimous decision loss to Roy Nelson back in February. The loss for “The Big Show”was just his second in the UFC, as he amassed a 6-2 record in the octagon. The 29-year old only finished one opponent during his UFC tenure which started in 2013. Leon Edwards replaces injured Peter Sobotta against Dominic Waters at UFC Fight Night 87 UFC officials announced Wednesday that an injury has forced Peter Sobotta out of his UFC Fight Night 87 matchup with Dominic Waters. Instead, Leon Edwards replaces him on the card and there was no update on the injury to Sobotta. Edwards (10-3) is a former BAMMA champion and had his winning streak snapped in his last fight as he suffered a decision loss to Kamaru Usman back in December. Waters (9-4) has yet to win a fight in the UFC, losing back-to-back fights against George Sullivan and Dong Hyun Kim. Anna Elmose signs with UFC, faces Germaine de Randamie at UFC Fight Night 87 Undefeated women’s bantamweight Anna Elmose has signed with the UFC and will make her promotional debut on May 8th against .Germaine de Randamie. UFC officials confirmed the matchup on Wednesday. Elmose (3-0) has won all of her fights by TKO/KO including a victory over Mara Romero Borella last May at UCL 23. Randamie (5-3) is coming off a TKO win against Larissa Pacheco at UFC 185 last year. She is currently 3-1 in her last four fights.
