UFC Fight Night 85 produced a solid night of mixed martial arts action from Brisbane, Australia. Now with the entertaining night of scraps in our rear-view, let’s take a look at which of the evenings competitors we may no longer see in action inside the Octagon… ON THE CHOPPING BLOCK James Te-Huna Te-Huna suffered a first round knockout at the hands of Steve Bosse this past weekend on the main card of UFC Fight Night 85 in Australia and the lose puts him on a four fight skid inside the Octagon. I think there was a case to be made for releasing him after his last bout, but now I think it’s all but guaranteed that he will be receiving his walking papers from the promotion, if not hanging up the gloves on his own terms first. I think the ladder is the more likely scenario and expect Te-Huna to call it a career and sail into retirement. Mark Eddiva Eddiva made a big impression in his promotional debut with an upset unanimous decision win over Jumabieke Tuerxuen, who has a massive betting favorite over Eddiva heading into the 145-pound contest. Unfortunately for the Philipino fighter, that would be both his first and last taste of UFC victory, as he went on to lose his next three contests. First he suffered a second round TKO against Kevin Souza in a ‘Fight of the Night’ winning effort, then followed a split decision to Levan Makashvhili and most recently, a first round submission loss to Dan Hooker this past weekend in Australia. Following the three fight skid, I think it is highly likely the UFC will now be parting ways with the 30-year-old fighter.
