Derrick Lewis debut in our rankings after winning two straight bouts by TKO and holding an impressive 5-2 record in the UFC overall. Lewis hasn’t faced the best competition, but he goes out there and takes care of business against the lower-tier fighters and that’s important as well.

Albert Tumenov Stephen Thompson makes a monstrous leap up the welterweight division after his incredible first round knockout of Johny Hendricks. Thompson put on a striking clinic against the former UFC Welterweight Champion, stuffing his first takedown then peppering him with combinations from distance while Hendricks grew increasingly flustered before putting him away against the fence. “Wonderboy” is now firmly in title contention. Ben Nguyen Justin Scoggins earns a nice leap up four place, actually swapping spots in the rankings with the man he defeated, Ray Borg. Scoggins fully utilized his incredible striking ability for the first time in the UFC’s Octagon this past weekend to great success. He was able to avoid being put in bad positions on the ground by Borg as well as managing to maintain top control whenever the bout did hit the canvas. After a couple hiccups, it appears Scoggins is beginning to tap into the potential everyone was raving about before he signed with the UFC. Borg will need to continue developing his overall game before he can become a contender, but he has plenty of time at just 22 years old.
