UFC on FOX 17 came and went, producing a night of entertaining fights that included seven consecutive underdogs getting their hands raised. Now, following the solid night of action, let’s take a look at which of the evening’s competitors we may no longer see going to work inside the Octagon… ON THE CHOPPING BLOCK CB Dollaway “The Doberman” suffered a second round knockout at the hands of veteran Nate Narquardt on the preliminary card of last night’s UFC on FOX 17 in Orlando. He got the better of “The Great” in the first frame, but got caught rushing in at the start of the second, and that was all she wrote. I think there is a very good chance Dollaway will be receiving his walking papers from the UFC now, as the loss to Marquardt made it three in a row for him, and he’s been finished in two of those fights. Now on a three-fight skid, I think his next bout will be on a WSOF or Bellator fight card. Danny Castillo “Last Call” is currently on a four-fight losing streak inside the Octagon, but he is arguably 10-2 in his last 12 fights and 7-1 in his last eight, considering he has been on the losing end of four razor-thin decisions. A split decision to Nik Lentz on the FOX Sports 1 preliminary card of Saturday night’s UFC on FOX 17 makes him officially 1-5 in his last six UFC appearances, so I think it is safe to say we have seen the last of “Last Call” inside the Octagon. I would say it is 50/50 on whether the 36-year old hangs up the gloves or heads to Bellator to add to their growing 155-pound division. He has a lot going on outside of fighting, so I could see him opting to save himself further brain damage and retire a UFC fighter, but I could also see the competitor in him wanting to keep going until the wheels fall completely off. I suppose we’ll just have to wait and see what he decides.
