MMAOddsBreaker.com’s Submission of the Month for September 2017 goes to UFC light heavyweight Ovince St. Preux at UFC Fight Night 117 in Saitama, Japan on September 23rd.
OSP defeated short notice promotional returner Yushin Okami via first round Von Flue choke submission, making it the third time he has secured a victory with that maneuver and second time this year. There have only been five Von Flue chokes in UFC history and he owns more than half of them; the other two belong to Jordan Rinaldi and Jason Von Flue himself. Aside it from being a rare submission, the finish was especially impressive considering the fact that it was the first time Okami has been submitted in his professional mixed martial arts career. OSP now enjoys a two-fight winning streak inside the Octagon, with both victories coming by way of Von Flue choke submission.
