Johny Hendricks vs. Stephen Thompson An explosive welterweight matchup has been added to UFC 196. Hendricks (17-3) had to pull out of his last fight against Tyron Woodley at UFC 192 due to complications from his weight cut. Since then Hendricks has been working with Weight Management Specialist Lou Girodano and aims to have no issues making the 170-pound limit this time around. Thompson (11-1 ) was linked to a fight with Neil Magny at UFC 195, however Magny replaced Matt Brown against Kelvin Gastelum at UFC Fight Night 79 last month. Since his loss to Matt Brown at UFC 145, Thompson has won five-straight fights, with three of the five victories coming by stoppage. Roy Nelson vs. Jared Rosholt Nelson (20-12) is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Josh Barnett at UFC Fight Night 75 and is 1-5 in his last six bouts. Rosholt (14-2) is coming off a lacklustre unanimous decision victory over Stefan Struve at UFC 193. The former NCAA Division I wrestler is 6-1 during his UFC tenure. Josh Burkman vs. KJ Noons Burkman (27-12) makes the move down to lightweight for the first time in his career and is currently 0-2-NC since his return to the UFC in this past year. Noons (13-8) is coming off a first round submission loss to Alex Oliveira at UFC Fight Night 67 and prior to that, was riding a three-fight unbeaten streak. Mike Pyle vs. Sean Spencer Pyle (26-11-1) looks for his first win since Feb. 2014 and is currently 1-3 in his last four fights. Spencer (12-4) is coming off one of the most controversial decisions of the year in his defeat to Cathal Pendred at UFC Fight Night 59. Prior to that Spencer had gone 3-1 in his last four bouts. UFC 196 takes place Feb. 6 at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.
