UFC Fight Night 79 is now behind us, having produced a night of fun and interesting fights. Now let’s take a look at which of the competitors from the show in Seoul we may no longer see in action inside the Octagon… ON THE CHOPPING BLOCK Yui Chul Nam “The Korean Bulldozer” is now 1-2 in three Octagon appearances, having fought to a split decision in all three contests. He took the win in his promotional debut against Kazuki Tokudome, but has come up short in his latest outings, against Philipe Nover and most recently, Mike de la Torre at today’s UFC Fight Night 79 in Seoul. Nam has not looked impressive since the first round of his debut, so I could see him receiving his pink slip after a two-fight skid. However, I think it is almost as likely that the UFC decides to keep him around, solely to use on one of next years fight cards in Asia. Leo Kuntz Kuntz has now gone 0-2 inside the Octagon with a second round rear naked choke submission loss to Isam Makhachev in his promotional debut and a split decision against Tae Hyun Bang at UFC Fight Night 79 in Seoul earlier today. I think Kuntz has proven to not be a UFC-calibre athlete, so I could see two straight losses being enough to send him packing from the promotion. He appears to be far below average in every facet of mixed martial arts. His striking, wresting and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu all looked atrocious. If he gets another fight in the UFC, I believe they will be feeding him to a wolf they want to see get a win. In fact, that is the reason I think the promotion initially signed Kuntz; so fellow promotional newcomer Makhachev could get an easy win over a not-so-good fighter with a good looking record.
