MMAOddsBreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with UFC Fight Night 78 featherweight Ricardo Lamas as he prepares for his upcoming main card bout this Saturday night (November 21, 2015) against Diego Sanchez at the Arena Monterray in Monterray, Mexico.
The former title challenger is expect a stiff test from one of the UFC’s most notable veterans, and he’s not planning on taking the aging Sanchez lightly despite his recent performances:
“I think [Diego Sanchez] is just as dangerous as ever. That’s how I’m approaching it. I’m not trying to come into this thinking, ‘Oh, he’s on his way out.’ I’m training for him like he’s in his prime. Diego Sanchez is a guy that gets more dangerous as the fight goes on. He’s always in there. He gets beat for the first two rounds, but I read a stat that he wins more third rounds than most people in the UFC. He gets stronger as the fight progresses and I have to make sure I’m in shape enough to go 100 percent for all three rounds.”
