My Over/Under Totals are: Women’s Strawweight bout: Joanna Jedrzejczyk (-2000) vs Valerie Letourneau (+1250) Gabe’s Thoughts: I think this fight is going to be a lot closer than the betting odds currently indicate, though I still believe Joann Champion is going to get her hand raised. Her chances of finishing Letourneau, in my opinion, are not as great as most people think. I do think she could potentially batter the French-Canadian up quite violoently, but I think Letourneau will tough it out and be game for at least 2.5 rounds of action, which makes me like this total at +120. I favor her to tough it out until the final bell, so I expect this fight to go past the 2.5 round mark. I would not be shocked to see Letourneau be competitive in this fight, as I think she is the best striker Joanna Champion has faced since the Claudia Gadelha bout. Gabe’s Call: Joanna Champion by Unanimous Decision (50-45, 50-45, 50-45) Gabe’s Recommended Play: Over 2.5 rounds (+120) 3u to win 3.6u Middleweight bout: Robert Whittaker (+125) vs Uriah Hall (-145) Gabe’s Thoughts: This is a scrap between a pair of talented and lethal strikers who are intending on entering the Octagon to put each other away, and I think 12 1/2 minutes of action is plenty of time for one of them to meet that goal. I would not be surprised if this fight plays out for all three rounds, but at these odds, I believe the value is with the Under at -105. Gabe’s Call: Hall by T/KO (head-kick and punches, 1:38 round 1) Gabe’s Recommended Play: Under 2.5 rounds (-105) 2.1u to win 2u Heavyweight bout: Jared Rosholt (-105) vs Stefan Struve (-115) Gabe’s Thoughts: Rosholt is without a doubt the superior wrestler heading into this heavyweight contest and I think his advantage in wrestling is going to be the difference here. I see him closing a distance and getting a hold of Struve’s long legs, which will be a gift to him, as I think he will be finding success with his takedowns. I think this fight goes past 1.5 rounds more often than not, and while I favor Rosholt to win this fight on the judges’ scorecards, I think there’s more value in the Over 1.5 rounds Total at -170 than there is in Rosholt straight up at -105, even though it is a better line. I think Struve’s best chance at a win is by scoring a late stoppage, if Rosholt begins to fade, and if that happened, the Total would still cash. Gabe’s Call: Rosholt by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) Gabe’s Recommended Play: Over 1.5 rounds (-170) 5.1u to win 3u
