The Octagon made its way to the Toytoa Center in Houston on Saturday night for the promotion’s latest offering on pay-per-view. UFC 192 featured 12 fights, headlined by the light heavyweight title bout between Daniel Cormier and Alexander Gustafsson. When all was said and done 9 favorites won and 3 underdogs had their hand raised according to the odds at Several Bookmakerss. Here’s how the fights broke down: Favorites That Won: In the main event of the evening, the UFC light heavyweight title was on the line and champion Daniel Cormier and Alexander Gustafsson put on a war for the ages. Both men did tremendous damage to each other but Cormier was able to keep up a tremendous pace to outland the Swede over the course of five grueling rounds. In the end, the judges decided with with Cormier via split decision. Cormier won as a -250 (Bet $250 to win $100) favorite while Gustafsson was +230 (Bet $100 to win $230). In a heavyweight battle, Rudlan Magomedov outmaneuvered Shawn Jordan and picked him apart for three straight rounds to pick up a unanimous decision victory. Magomedov came through as a -185 favorite while Jordan lost as a +170 underdog. In a flyweight battle, Joseph Benavidez kept his claim to the top perch in the division firm by defeating Ali Bagautinov via unanimous decision in a decent scrap. Benavidez closed as a -325 favorite while Bagautinov was a +295 dog. In the opening bout of the main card, Julianna Pena took Jessica Eye’s best shot but utilized superior top control to ride out a competitive unanimous decision. Pena was a -250 favorite while Eye lost at +230. In a featherweight contest Yair Rodriguez moved his UFC record to 3-0 adter scoring a unanimous decision over Daniel Hooker. Rodriguez threw a wide variety of unorthodox strikes in the first two rounds before slowing down in the third after suffering a foot injury. Rodriguez was victorious as a -260 betting favorite while Hooker lost as a +240 underdog. Albert Tumenov moved his winning streak to four in a row after dismantling Alan Jouban with a violent first round knockout. Tumenov stunned Jouban with a blocked head kick then swarmed him with punches along the fence, putting him down with a left cross. Tumenov was a -250 favorite while Jouban was +230. After having a fight canceled at the last minute, Rose Namajunas let out her frustration on Angela Hill. Rose took the fight to the ground then latched on a standing rear naked choke as Hill tried to escape to her feet to pick up a first round submission. Namajunas was a -265 favorite while Hill was a +245 underdog. 19-year old Sage Northcutt lived up to the hype by blistering Francisco Trevino in just 55 seconds via TKO. Northcutt was a whopping -450 favorite while Trevino was +400. Sergio Pettis bounced back in impressive fashion by dominating former UFC flyweight title challenger Chris Cariaso in the first two rounds. Pettis took the third round off but still easily coasted to a unanimous decision. Pettis came through as a -190 favorite while Cariaso lost as a +175 dog. Underdogs That Won: In the co-main event of the evening, Ryan Bader utilized an excellent jab to pick apart a very rusty looking Rashad Evans to easily outpoint the former champion and win a unanimous decision. Bader was a +120 underdog while Evans was a -130 betting favorite. Adriano Martins continued his streak of scoring upset victoriesbover Dagistani prospects when he connected with a counter right hook to knock Islam Makhachev out. Martins was a +115 dog while Makhachev was a -125 betting favorite. In a heavyweight battle, Viktor Pesta seemed well on his way to a victory due to takedowns and top control, but Derrick Lewis caught him with a heavy blow at the end of the second round. Pesta didn’t recover and was finished quickly at the beginning of the third frame. Lewis came through as a +155 underdog while Pesta lost as a -165 favorite.
